About the camp site
A sheltered camp site with electricity, new toilet facilities, cold and hot water and facilities to dispose of waste. One of Skagafjörðurs most enchanting facets is the fjord itself, which is perfect for sailing. From Hofsos there are trips twice a day during the summer with the company Haf og Land. The renowned swimming pool in Hofsós is within five minutes walking distance. A solid day in Hofsós could be sailing and whale watching, then warming up in the geothermal swimming pool, visiting the emigration center, and finally enjoy the unbelievable sunset over the islands in the fjord(if it’s early/late enough in the summer for the sun to set at all). The campsites in Sauðárkrókur, Hofsós, Hólar and Varmahlíð are working together. You can therefore stay the first night in any of the campsites and the next night in any of the others at our discounted rate.
The camp site is open from the 1st of May until the 1st of October
sooner if the weather allows.
